New Germany Rural High School

Spring is finally here and New Germany Rural High School has wakened the community garden at NGRHS. This initiative was created to improve school climate and to teach students about creating and maintaining a garden. Our wheelchair accessible garden promotes food as a source of sustainability and encourages staff, students and community members to work together. Students are getting ready to plant seeds but we need your help. Looking ahead to the future of our garden, we will need volunteers to care for the garden over the months of July and August.

New Germany Rural High School’s first ever extracurricular Fishing Club started in April and has been met with a steady stream of support.  The South Shore Regional School Board provided funding for the purchase of 5 fly rod fishing kits to assist the club with teaching students the sport of fly fishing.  Support for the club has also come from the LaHave River Salmon Association which, has donated a fly rod kit and provided financial assistance to support a Fishing Club field trip in May.  In addition, members of the Association have also been volunteering their time to assist with fly fis
