Dress Code Policy

Students are expected to wear clothing which helps create a positive school atmosphere. Clothing that is considered offensive or likely to be disruptive will not be permitted.

1. Wear clothing that covers the stomach, lower back, breast cleavage, and undergarments (i.e. underwear, bra, boxers, thongs).
2. Tube tops, halter tops, and off the shoulder tops are not permitted uncovered.
3. Clothing should not display inappropriate slogans and symbols. Examples of such include, but are not limited to, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol profanity, sexual connotations or racial slurs.
4. Shorts and skorts are to be sufficient length, style and cut so as to not expose the mid-thigh area at all times. Leggings and tights must be covered so as not to expose above mid-thigh.
5. Hats and bandanas are not to be worn in school until the end of the day when dismissal is announced.

CONSEQUENCES

Hats:
1st Offence: The hat is to be taken to the office and remains there for the day.
2nd Offence: The hat is taken to the office and remains there for 1 week; contact home is made.
3rd Offence: The hat is taken to the office and remains there for the remainder of the semester; contact home is made.
4th Offence: The hat is taken to the office and remains there for the remainder of the year; contact home is made.

Clothing:
Student conference - the student will be asked to cover or replace the inappropriate dress immediately. Refusal to do so will result in a stage 5 office referral (defiance).
